Recognition of chapter members and excellence in tech comm is recognized by the Society and chapter.

The STC/SM chapter includes multiple award winners: including recipients of the Community of Merit Award, the Distinguished Community Service Award, the STC/SM Academic Scholarship, Associate Fellow and Fellow Ranks, Chapter President Plaques, and Volunteer Recognition. Additionally, STC members enjoy other opportunities for recognition, including opportunities for writing competitions.
