Bio

Joe is the corporate editor at Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan, with more than 25 years of experience as a writer, editor, and teacher. He has written everything from administrative manuals and annual reports to newspaper articles, op-eds, speeches, marketing materials, and websites. Joe has been a writing instructor at Spring Arbor College, Davenport University, Macomb Community College, and a guest speaker at Madonna College.

Joe began his career working on local weekly newspapers, and he has freelanced for corporate publications, The Detroit Free Press, The Detroit News and Metro Parent. He is currently taking a class in screenwriting. He has won Silver Quill awards for feature writing from the International Association of Business Communicators, and has been part of teams that have won awards for websites and annual reports. Joe has a Bachelor of Arts degree in journalism from Wayne State University and a Master’s degree in journalism from Michigan State University.
