Joyce A Zerkich, Project Manager/Scrum Master, RelWare

Ms. Zerkich felt a passion to take what she learned in the financial and automotive information technology industries to the healthcare industry. She wants to help the industry avoid common costly project management mistakes. She currently works at RelWare, which is a healthcare vendor that developed an EMR utilized at several hospitals enabling physicians to use “OneRecord”, keeping patient information online and accessible to all healthcare providers. Her last master’s degree included writing a master’s thesis on Information Technology Risk Management, published on the Ford Global Intranet along with several position papers on topics such as grid computing.

Ms. Zerkich has extensive speaking experience, giving talks on a variety of subjects and conducting corporate training. In a nine year period (2001-2009), she developed and delivered 83 lunch-n-learns. Speaking to a total of 3460 attendees, she is able to tailor her presentations to audience needs: she scored an average of 87.2% overall satisfaction from attendees, 90% of attendees believed the information would help them decrease work stress, 93% advised the “presentations were excellent”, and 86% reported they “will use the information they learned on their jobs.

Joyce also worked 20 years at Ford Motor Company.

She initially became a Ford Credit employee, bringing 7 years automobile experience from State Farm Insurance. Her jobs were in Loss Prevention/Risk Management, automobile damage estimating, and dealer relationships, and as a information technology project manager. She interacted with the FBI and served on the local chapter of the International Association of Auto Theft Investigators to decrease Ford vehicle auto theft.

She was promoted from FMCC to Ford Motor Company, Information Technology Division. She worked as a planner for the famous Jack Nasser’s “Model e” program, "Employee Network" North American website portfolio manager, Ford IT Global Security Risk Manager, and the Global IT Strategy Program Manager.
