2010-2011 Chapter Administrative Council |
| The
STC/SM Chapter Administrative Council is the governing body
of the STC/SM chapter, managing STC/SM operations. This body
consists solely of the Executive Administrative Council, made
up of the four currently elected officers and the immediate
past president—empowered with primary voting authority
to pursue chapter initiatives, allocate resources, and authorize
financial expenditures, to further the strategic objectives
of the society and goals of the current president. The Extended
Administrative Council includes committee managers, who participate
in council meetings throughout the chapter term and contribute
to chapter decision-making. |

Bowen specializes in software user assistance communications,
working as a professional Technical Communications Consultant/Independent
Contractor. She is a long-time volunteer for STC/SM, and
she has spent much of her career in the financial and
automotive industries. |

Working
in the area of Technical Communications for 18 years in
the healthcare industry, Jill Money held positions in
training, analysis, consulting, communications and leadership.
She has focused in the areas of Practice Management Software
Applications, and Health Information Technology and Government
Compliance such as the Health Information Portability
and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA). She has been the
Professional Liaison for STC-SM since 2007/2008. |

Technical Writer working in Farmington Hills, MI, Mark
Lockwood leads the documentation development effort for
RelWare, a software development firm focused on creating
Web applications for the healthcare industry. He develops
a variety of corporate communications and deliverables
for commercial software, including online help. He has
been involved with STC/SM since college and has enjoyed
increased participation through the past several years. |

Sharon
McDonnell is a Senior Analyst at Blue Cross Blue Shield
of Michigan (BCBSM), returning this year to the STC/SM
Treasurer position for the second time. Although working
as a full-time professional technical communicator, she
understands the value of volunteering, both for her professional
development and for promoting technical communication. |

Tom
Glennan is an active member of the Southeastern Michigan
and Northeast Ohio STC chapters, working as a freelance/contact
technical writer, as well as as an adjunct professor at
Lawrence Technological University, teaching technical
and professional communication. He recently retired from
General Motors after working for 40 years in various engineering
and engineering management assignments, many of which
involved development of technical documentation. |
