Greetings chapter members!
This is a reminder that it’s Chapter Council Election season. Voting for the 2018–2019 program year will take place May 15–31, 2018. That means nominations for Council positions are open for only a few more days.
If you’re thinking of nominating another chapter member (or yourself!) for an elected Council position, you have until the end of business on May 14 to send the nominee’s name and contact information to our Nominations Chair. Please note that candidates must be members of the STC Southeastern Michigan chapter.
Our chapter bylaws specify five elected Council positions, with some additional guidelines:
- President: The current vice president succeeds to the presidency.
- Vice President
- Nominations Committee: There are two elected positions; the current council President becomes the Immediate Past President and Nominations Committee manager.
We currently have one candidate each for President, Vice President, Treasurer, Secretary, and Nominations. Are you ready for an entry-level way to get involved? We are looking for a nominations committee member who will help lead the chapter council’s efforts to identify and reach out to potential candidates for the 2019 election slate. Please let us know if you want to learn more! We would need your information and a photograph to include in the ballot by the end of business, May 13, so it can be posted.
Voting takes place electronically, using ElectionBuddy. If you are a current chapter member, you will receive an email with a link to the ballot, even if you have asked not to receive regular communications from us. STC and IRS rules require us to notify every dues-paying chapter member of our election.
Watch this space for the official announcement when voting opens, watch your email for the message with your unique ballot link, and please vote!
