Are you interested in reading books related to writing, editing, grammar, and technical communication? Do you want to participate in discussions with technical communicators?
STC-SM is launching a virtual book club that will meet twice a year to discuss a selected book within the field of writing, editing, design, and other topics specific to technical communication. Our first book club event will take place using our STC-SM Slack workspace to get to know one another, discuss different concepts in the book, and apply what we’ve learned in our profession. Our first book club pick is Steven Pinker’s The Sense of Style: The Thinking Person’s Guide to Writing in the 21st Century. Steven Pinker is a Professor in the Department of Psychology at Harvard University. A renowned polymath, Steven Pinker is most notably known for his work as a cognitive scientist and linguist, among many other pursuits. Read a summary of The Sense of Style on Goodreads, or read more about Steven Pinker on his website.
